Clients that are a good fit to work with the Keller Group

Owning a public accounting firm is a very rewarding career (although Beaufort the cat isn’t really very helpful).  If you like working with people, businesses, numbers and strategy, there is plenty of opportunity.  During my public accounting career, our firm has been involved in many facets of the industry.  In addition to our current specialties as small business accountants, we have been involved in audits, business valuations and tax issue resolution cases – just to name a few.

While our involvement in the other areas of public accounting has been beneficial to us as a team, it required us to have specific knowledge in a lot of different areas.  That expertise can be challenging to maintain.  For that reason, we have refined our business over the years to helping small business owners focus on achieving their goals by partnering with us to work on accounting, payroll and tax planning and compliance.  A smaller focus allows us to better direct our energies toward that goal.

We want to help you find more time to focus on your business

Not everyone that calls or walks into our office is a fit.  If you are a small business owner that is wanting to focus on improving your business by partnering with a firm, we have a great starting point.  If you are only contacting a CPA to get help here and there, we are not going to be a good fit.  While we might be able to provide some guidance, the big results come from an ongoing relationship where we know the financial status of your business.  So, do you want to hit singles or do you want to hit a home run?

Do-it-yourself

One of my side hobbies is managing my retirement assets in my stock portfolio.  There are plenty of investment advisors near our office that would love to help me out.  In fact, they might do a better job of maximizing returns than I do.  You know what? I don’t care because I like to do it.  I would be a terrible fit for moving my assets to an investment advisor because I would be paying them to do something I want to do.  That wouldn’t feel good to me.

We run into business owners just like that as well.  They would rather do the accounting and get involved in the numbers.  I respect and appreciate that energy because we like doing it too!  However, if you want to be the one in the accounting details, making payroll tax deposits and reconciling the bank account, working with us probably wouldn’t be a good fit. We might end up taking some of your fun away!

Just getting started in your business?

The core of our services is our fixed fee monthly accounting and tax services.  We understand that our minimum fees can be too much for a smaller business.  We take on a small number of growth minded business owners every year that have revenue less than $250,000 per year.  The most important factor is your vision for the business – if we have an opportunity to grow together, we would love to have a conversation with you.
